  • I am retired from Wells Fargo but know how much feedback is important to recognize our team members. Today I visited the branch located at 4180 NE Federal Hwy Jensen Beach Florida. The team member is John Sanchez a Associate Personal Banker and wow what a customer experience he gave us. My mother 85 years old moved in with me and needed to make some changes and order checks. He took his time and explained everything in detail to us. Loved our customer experience and just wanted Wells Fargo to know he is so great in the customer facing skills. Just wanted Wells to know what a great experience and thank you for having a great team member to represent the Wells Fargo brand.

  • I cant believe they are still in the business. Three months ago I opened a business checking account to get the $1250 bonus after 3 months. I asked specifically when I was opening the account how much money I have to deposit to get the bonus and is there are any fees. I was told, there are no fees for this type of account. Two months later I see two chargers for about $78 each. After 3 months there is still no bonus deposited to my account. Ill never deposit any of my money with Wells Fargo. This is a scam!!!!

    Higher Costs Charged To African

Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan filed suit against Wells Fargo on July 31, 2009, alleging that the bank steers African Americans and Hispanics into high-cost subprime loans. A Wells Fargo spokesman responded that “The policies, systems, and controls we have in place including in Illinois ensure race is not a factor…” An affidavit filed in the case stated that loan officers had referred to black mortgage-seekers as “mud people,” and the subprime loans as “ghetto loans.” According to Beth Jacobson, a loan officer at Wells Fargo interviewed for a report in The New York Times, “We just went right after them. Wells Fargo mortgage had an emerging-markets unit that specifically targeted black churches because it figured church leaders had a lot of influence and could convince congregants to take out subprime loans.” The report presented data from the city of Baltimore, where more than half the properties subject to foreclosure on a Wells Fargo loan from 2005 to 2008 now stand vacant. And 71 percent of those are in predominantly black neighborhoods. Wells Fargo agreed to pay $125 million to subprime borrowers and $50 million in direct down payment assistance in certain areas, for a total of $175 million.

    Wells Fargo & Company History

Former Wells Fargo Employees Charged With Insider Trading On Analyst ...

Wells Fargo & Company in its present form is the result of the 1998 merger of Norwest Corporation and the original Wells Fargo. The company kept the name to capitalize on the long history and nationwide name recognition of the Wells Fargo name.

The original Wells Fargo was founded in 1852 by Henry Wells and William G. Fargo, who also founded American Express. Wells Fargo was founded as a banking services company in California.

The company has many notable events in its history, such as the biggest bank heist in history at the Wells Fargo Depot in Connecticut.

Wells Fargo was the first company to offer internet banking in 1995.

Wells Fargo has had many major acquisitions over the years, including the 2008 acquisition of Wachovia Corporation, which allowed them to open Wells Fargo Securities.

Today Wells Fargo is the fourth-largest bank in the United States by assets and the largest by market capitalization.

Wells Fargo currently has more than 9,000 retail branches and 12,000 ATMs in 39 states and the District of Columbia and over 70 million customers.

    Tax Liability And Lobbying

In December 2011, Public Campaign criticized Wells Fargo for spending $11 million on lobbying during 20082010, while increasing executive pay and laying off workers, while having no federal tax liability due to losses from the Great Recession. However, in 2013, the company paid $9.1 billion in income taxes.

Use Arbitration To Settle Your Complaint

Doing business with such a large company can leave you feeling very powerless especially when there doesnt seem to be any strict chain of command or anyone in charge with whom you can speak. Even services like Wells Fargo have contracts that try and prevent you from taking legal action. They usually include something in the contract thats called a forced arbitration Clause. This means that youre not allowed to take them to regular court if something goes wrong.

And for a lot of people even a seemingly small app like Wells Fargo might be the only affordable and available method of transportation around your city even if you know they have bad customer service or an unresponsive staff.

Thankfully you can use arbitration as a great way to get a satisfactory solution to your problem with the company without having to sue them. This is great because it appoints an impartial arbitrator, someone whos familiar with the situation and will look at both sides equally. The decision they make is binding, too, which means that the company no longer controls the outcome.
